Who we are
Krupskaya Books is a Bay Area press established in 1998.
We specialize in publishing experimental poetry and prose—including hybrid, mixed-genre, queer, and formally adventurous work—that challenge traditional literary forms. Our editorial process is rooted in collaboration: a three-member, writer-led collective shares equal responsibility for reading, selection, editing, and all aspects of author support, working toward consensus at every stage.
To date, Krupskaya has published 54 titles. All share a commitment to expanding the kinds of conversation that writing makes possible in those places where culture unfolds in the face of relentless institutional entwinement, consolidation, and homogenization.
